Another Titanic tale |
If you're like me and have no interest in the re-release of James Cameron's
Titanic in 3D (we all know it wasn't filmed in 3D) then consider
Saving the Titanic for a fresh angle on the infamous, oceanic disaster.
Saving the Titanic
focuses on the ship's crew deep in the bowels of the vessel, who
selflessly sacrifice their lives to keep Titanic afloat for as long as
they can in order to allow as many passengers to get off safely. The
movie is a hybrid of a documentary and a drama. Moments of scripted
dialogue of actual-event-reenactments are shown with occasional scenes
of animated diagrams of the ships anatomy with a narrator describing
what viewers are seeing. Although there are no household names as far
as the actors go, the acting is top notch.

Just reading about how there were those who stayed under to save lives makes me cry a little. This movie might be too heart wrenching for me.
ReplyDeleteYes, it does tug at your heart when watching it. These men worked like dogs to the very end, sweating profusely, knowing very well that they would go down with the ship. They were not forced to do it, yet chose to in order to keep the ship afloat a little longer, allowing more passengers to escape. That is real heroism.
