The Crows Have Eyes 3 poster |
In the previous season, Schitt's Creek had shown us glimpses of The Crowening as we witnessed Moira Rose (Catherine O'Hara) behind the scenes, shooting her part for the make-believe movie, in her role as Dr. Clara Mandrake.
This season, after the movie had been shelved, a new streaming service called Interflix acquires the rights and starts showing it on its platform. Of course, Interflix is yet another fictional creation by the Schitt's Creek team which has even gone so far as to create a social media account for it on Tweeters. The account has already gained several disciples. But the best part about it all is that they went the extra mile (as the crow flies) and created a full movie trailer for The Crows Have Eyes 3.
"The Crowening is absolutely cawful!" - Movie Vigilante

The movie's trailer makes it look like it falls somewhere in between Alfred Hitchcock's classic film The Birds, and the absolutely awful attempt at a movie called Birdemic. At the very least, The Crowening looks cawful, which is the blurb I would go with on the movie poster. It's not not accurate. This is the type of movie that Count Floyd would show on Monster Chiller Horror Theater. Now that, I would love to see.
Notice that the movie is directed by the singularly-named Blaire, much like Cher and McG, the latter whom might have been right at home helming a shlocky movie.
Rose Video Membership Stickers and Magnets
Let's pretend for a moment that Rose Video was real and that you walked into one of its many store locations (according to Schitt's Creek it was #2 behind Blockbuster), looking to rent The Crows Have Eyes 3: The Crowening. In order to do that, you would need a membership card.
Therefor, I thought I would design what I thought what Rose Video membership cards would look like.

Design Easter Eggs
I had some fun inserting some fun Easter eggs in the design. I also thought it would be more likely that the neighbouring town of Elmdale would have a Rose Video store, considering it would have a larger population.
- phone number's last four digits spell ROSE
- number in street address is Eugene Levy's year of birth
- Elm Street continues the tradition of the many things in the show with Elm in the name
TeePublic's Fan Art Program
Thanks to TeePublic's Fan Art Program, artists are able to partner with popular brands to create and sell officially licensed work. That's exactly the case here as ITV Studios has given its stamp of approval to my design, meaning my Rose Video membership merchandise is not infringing on another creator's intellectual property. You will see ITV's verification by scrolling down to the bottom of the product page.
TeePublic is also socially responsible, in case that matters to you.

Coming Soon to Redbubble
I'll also be offering this design on Redbubble as soon as it's approved on that platform, since it also has the same fan art program. Stay tuned for an update.
