In between this new album and Still Going Strong, Paul was busy increasing his output of videos on his YouTube channel, along with being the subject of a new documentary movie, and touring when he could. All of this took time away from writing and recording new songs. At some point, he realized that if he was ever going to put out a new album, he needed to cut back on time spent creating content for his channel. When he announced he would be doing this, I was thrilled.
When Still Going Strong was released, the bar was set very high as I consider that to be Paul's very best album. That one is an ear-worm from beginning to end. While Lit AF falls a bit short of the previous album, it's still a very solid collection of songs covering many genres and styles with several catchy tunes that will get stuck in your head.
Below are some of the album's highlights, along with my short descriptions of each selection.
Tell Me What You Think
A catchy pop song that is basically a response to haters and trolls on his channel.Dome Light
A whimsical rock song about yearning for a police car dome light.Hello Kitty Necklace
An old-school rap song that would go good with Wine Coolers. Watch the video further below.Uber On Over
Another rock song with catchy refrain and amusing ending.Alive In The Body Bag
A heavy rocker.Dopamine Drop
Another extremely catchy rap song, this one describing the affect when someone likes your content. She Wants To Eat Out
The heaviest rocker on this album with plenty of humour describing how expensive it is to eat out.Lite-Brite Album Cover Art
Lite Brite was a simple but very popular toy during the 70s and 80s, produced by Hasbro. I remember having it as a kid and it was a lot of fun playing with it. Eventually, my siblings and I lost most of the pegs and my parents never bought us any refills (I don't blame them) and we moved on to other toys.
This is my absolute favourite album cover of any of Weird Paul's albums. It's even available on T-shirts.
Niffer appears with Paul in the documentary movie Will Work for Views: The Lo-Fi Life of Weird Paul, which is currently streaming free on TUBI.
